The TAP flight was scheduled for 11:20 a.m., and although everything was in order, I felt that good kind of anxiety that only appears before a big adventure. It was the beginning of something I knew would leave a mark.The destination was Brussels, where I would meet up with three friends from the group — each arriving from a different corner of the world. Some had arrived the day before, others were landing at different times. It was a small “international operation” put together for one single purpose: to live the Tomorrowland experience to the fullest.As soon as I arrived at Brussels airport, I could already feel the Tomorrowland spirit in the air. Posters were scattered all around, and groups of young people dressed for the occasion, waving flags and wearing personalised shirts, were welcoming passengers as if the festival had already begun — even before any stage or beat.It was Lenon who made this magical entry possible. With his little “hacker” ways (laughs) and his veteran status — he goes to the festival every single year — he opened the doors of this universe for me. He always says, “Once you go, you never stop going.” And there was something in his eyes that made me believe it.After meeting at the airport, we took a taxi to the centre of Brussels. The hotel was already buzzing with part of the group that had arrived earlier. The energy was contagious. There were no strangers — only future dance floor partners and story companions.I shared a room with Cora, one of those people with a natural calm and peaceful presence that feels just right to have around in chaotic environments.After dropping off our bags, we headed back out to central Brussels to meet up with more people from the group. New faces kept popping up — friends of friends, solo travellers, online acquaintances now made real. It was a unique mix of nationalities, accents, and styles, all connected by one thing: music.Our meeting point was the bar "The Big Game", which quickly became our unofficial headquarters. That’s where we shared stories, expectations, tips and plenty of laughs. I wanted to soak in more of the city, its traditions, charming monuments and picturesque streets. There was history on every corner, street performers bringing alleys to life, and that kind of architecture that makes you stop and stare. The Belgian beer — which, by the way, was really good — kept filling our glasses and lifting our spirits. Every round seemed to end in a special toast. O voo da TAP partia às 11h20 e, apesar de tudo estar em ordem, sentia aquela ansiedade boa que só aparece antes de uma grande aventura. Era o início de algo que sabia que me ia marcar.O destino era Bruxelas, onde me ia juntar a três amigos do grupo — cada um vindo de um canto diferente do mundo. Alguns já tinham chegado no dia anterior, outros chegavam noutros horários. Era uma pequena “organização internacional” montada com um único propósito: viver o Tomorrowland ao máximo.Mal cheguei ao aeroporto de Bruxelas, percebi logo que o espírito do Tomorrowland já se vivia por todo o lado. Havia cartazes do festival espalhados por vários cantos, e grupos de jovens vestidos a rigor, com bandeiras às costas e camisolas personalizadas, davam as boas-vindas aos recém-chegados. Era como se o festival começasse ali mesmo, antes de qualquer palco ou batida.Foi o Lenon quem me proporcionou esta entrada mágica. Com o seu jeitinho de hacker (risos) e por já ser veterano do festival — vai todos os anos, sem falhar — conseguiu abrir-me as portas para este universo. Ele costuma dizer: “Quem vai uma vez, nunca mais deixa de ir.” E havia algo no brilho dos olhos dele que me dizia que era mesmo verdade.Depois de nos encontrarmos no aeroporto, apanhámos um táxi até ao centro de Bruxelas. O hotel já estava a fervilhar com parte do grupo que tinha chegado antes. A energia era contagiante. Ali não havia estranhos — só futuros cúmplices de pista e de histórias para a vida.Fiquei a partilhar o quarto com a Cora, uma daquelas pessoas com uma calma natural e uma presença tranquila que sabe bem ter por perto em ambientes caóticos.Depois de deixarmos as malas no quarto, saímos logo de seguida para o centro de Bruxelas, onde nos juntámos a mais pessoas do grupo. Havia também caras novas a surgir a cada momento — amigos de amigos, viajantes a solo, conhecidos virtuais que se tornavam reais. Passámos a tarde e a noite entre bebidas, petiscos e conversas animadas.Por momentos, deixei o grupo e fui explorar o centro de Bruxelas. Apetecia-me absorver um pouco mais da cidade, das suas tradições, monumentos encantadores e ruelas cheias de charme. Havia história em cada esquina, artistas de rua a dar vida aos becos e aquela arquitectura que nos faz parar só para olhar. A cerveja belga — por sinal, muito boa — ia enchendo copos e corações. E não havia rodada que não terminasse com um brinde especial. I always dreamed of Tomorrowland. I watched the videos, looked at the photos, listened to the sets... and imagined: what must it feel like to be there? To feel the music on your skin? To be part of that colourful utopia? In 2023, the impossible became reality. And it was even more beautiful than I had ever dreamed.My heart beats to the rhythm of melodic techno and techno, and perhaps that’s why the Freedom Stage became my favourite corner. The ceiling seemed to breathe with us, with lights falling like stars and giant butterflies floating between the beats — a kind of futuristic forest, where music was the common language.I went with a group of friends, but there, everyone felt like a friend. The atmosphere was pure love, pure connection. It felt as if we had all known each other forever — as if the music had dissolved every barrier, distance, and language.There was a moment that truly moved me: a guided tour through the stages led by my friends. They showed me every corner of that alternative universe. They told me stories, explained the meaning behind each stage — as if Tomorrowland was an enchanted book I was finally learning to read.Seeing so many people together, with eyes glowing and feet dancing, made me feel small and huge at the same time. Small, in the face of the festival’s grandeur. Huge, for being there and living it fully.We stayed in Dreamville, the camping area that’s so much more than just accommodation — it’s a world within a world. We woke up with smiles, shared improvised breakfasts, and left early each day. Contaram-me histórias, explicaram-me os significados por trás de cada palco — como se o Tomorrowland fosse um livro encantado que eu estava finalmente a aprender a ler.Ver tanta gente junta, com os olhos a brilhar e os pés a dançar, fez-me sentir pequenina e gigante ao mesmo tempo. Pequenina, perante a grandiosidade daquele festival. Gigante, por estar ali, a viver tudo aquilo.Ficámos na Dreamville, o parque de campismo que é mais do que um alojamento — é um mundo dentro de outro mundo. Acordávamos com sorrisos, partilhávamos pequenos-almoços improvisados, e logo de manhã partíamos rumo ao recinto. Só voltávamos quando a última batida se calava na madrugada.Foi um daqueles momentos raros da vida em que sentimos que tudo faz sentido. A música. A amizade. A liberdade. E eu.
